So, I recently came across a webpage of a NASAs project, titled: "The Contrail Education Project". It is very nice that NASA has such a page and that is promoting contrail education in general.
The page has some nice educational material on the types of contrails, or how they are formed.
The page also provides links to current research on contrails, a short history on the subject, the possibility of reporting observations, frequently asked questions, and other material.

Of course, the best reference on the net on the subject of contrails is Contrail Science, but NASA always has a nice way of approaching public outreach on scientific issues.
Cheers.
