Quantum Roundabout is a Postgraduate Student Conference focused on the fundamentals of Quantum Physics, to be held from 29 June-3rd July 2014 at The University of Nottingham, School of Mathematical Sciences.
The event intends to bring together young researchers, working at the crossroad between Physics and Applied Mathematics, into an enriching scientific interaction and is organised by postgraduate students at the University of Nottingham. It will also cover three of the most active research areas of Quantum Physics, all intimately interconnected, namely: Quantum Information, Quantum Thermodynamics and Foundations of Quantum Mechanics.
Three of the top researchers in these fields have been invited to give lectures/tutorials on cutting edge topics: Vlatko Vedral (University of Oxford), Anna Sanpera (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona) and Roger Colbeck (University of York). The programme will consist of up to twenty five short student talks and a poster session to encourage an active contribution from all participants, even those still at an early stage of their research.
There is a registration fee of £60 per student which includes accommodation. To register, please visit http://quantumroundabout.weebly.com. Application deadline is 6th June 2014.
